The Centre for Learning Innovation is led by Professor Carmel Diezmann, the Assistant Dean Research.
The Centre undertakes high impact research for a wide range of educational stakeholders. Its research is focused on the creation of new knowledge and the investigation of a broad range of educational issues that impact on policy and practice at state, national and international levels. Situated in the largest Faculty of Education in Australia , the Centre of Learning Innovation utilises the breadth and depth of Faculty expertise to strengthen its collaborative research partnerships within and outside the Queensland University of Technology.
The Centre's research output assists the Faculty in achieving the following broad goals:
- to be a force for positive social and economic change, through creating knowledge and enhancing educational opportunities for individuals and communities
- to provide a learning environment shaped by a shared commitment to learning and characterized by high quality support services
- to offer a comprehensive and diverse range of educational programs, that are responsive to emerging needs in local, national and global contexts;
- to collaborate with educators and other stakeholders to provide leadership across the full range of education professions
- to sustain a workplace culture where people recognize and respect each other's contributions to the support of learning, research and service.
