Assoc. Professor Brian Delahaye - Higher Degree Coordinator The Doctor of Philosophy degree is awarded in recognition of a student's erudition in a broad field of learning and for notable accomplishment in that field through an original and substantial contribution to knowledge. The candidate's research will demonstrate high critical ability combined with powers of imagination and synthesis in examining some significant educational issue. To gain admission into a planned research program leading to the award of PhD a candidate typically shall hold a relevant First Class or Second Class Division A Honours degree or equivalent, an appropriate masters degree, or a professional doctorate from a recognised institution.
